1 review for Emotion Stones

  1. Sarah Vickery, Montgomery Primary School

“Sometimes talking about feelings and emotion in Circle Time is a bit tricky when you are only 4 years old, but the stones really focused the children and gave them a starting point for their talk. I was also able to model examples of the different emotions prompted by the variety of stones. I was quite surprised that children asked for the stones to be left out and sat chatting about their feelings. In small groups they took in turns to hold stones and chat about the faces and what they meant. Some children discussed how they felt. The Reception children were particularly interested. The stones were fab at supporting PSED. Having a concrete emotion to hold in their hand really helped my young children talk about different feelings. This also supported their Communication and Language Learning.”
