4 reviews for Vegetables – Sensory Play Stones

  1. Judges comments, 2020 ERA awards

“This durable and tactile resource offers a wealth of play-based opportunities and allow young children to be
creative and healthy cooks. They are ideal for independent and collaborative learning and help to stimulate
both talk and discussion around a variety of themes.”

  2. Sophia Wilson, EYFS Teacher

“The children absolutely loved them! They were perfect for modelling weighing and the children proudly took turns using them independently. The children loved naming the vegetables and we used them in our phonics area to identify initial sounds. I as a teacher thought they were fantastic, such a versatile resource that could be used for so many purposes and opportunities.”

  3. Gemma Sneddon, The Townsend Nursery School

“The children included them in their cooking in the mud kitchen. They encouraged lots of rich language as the children described each vegetables colour, shape and how they felt. By adding a new item it encouraged different children to explore the area that don’t always use it. As practitioners we thought the designs and colours were realistic. The resin used is hard wearing and easy to keep clean. We know that when used outside they are going to last unlike many other products made from wood or plastic.”

  4. Josie Purcell, Worth Primary School

“I just wanted to say what a huge hit they’ve been! I’ve had so many more children accessing the mud kitchen today, particularly some of my boys who I have never seen playing there! They loved how tactile the stones were, they were banging them with the spoons and feeling them in their hands for ages. I love how durable they are for outside, they fell out of pans and off plates many times and were still as good as new!”
